Friday, September 28, 2007 3:33:45 PM I love the Shining, but I dont remember seeing that Simpson Episode :(Wat ya call that fim where the Uniformed guy carries his wife out of the [factory] and she puts his hat on? I remember seeing that film once, after I'd seen the Simpson's ep and it was weird! |

Friday, September 28, 2007 2:18:06 AM Shows like The Simpsons and Family Guy base their humor off of references, which is why people can find so many of these kind of similarites in them. The only difference between family guy and the simpsons is that Family Guy makes it really obvious that they're making a reference while The Simpsons just kinda slip it in, which in my opinion is better. |

Thursday, September 27, 2007 6:02:01 PM I may have got this wrong, but I thought this was the whole point of the Simpsons. That's what makes it... funny. Yeah. Go figure, losers. |

Thursday, September 27, 2007 3:16:58 PM what about the whole episode they did relating to Pulp Fiction? 'McDonalds, Chief. Have like two thousand stores in this state alone.' |

Thursday, September 27, 2007 3:13:01 PM boring, no point in doing it, you'd never cover all the films that show has referenced |

Thursday, September 27, 2007 12:28:58 PM Would have been nice if they had some descriptions of the episode and at least the title of the movie and what the scene was about. Still pretty good. |

Thursday, September 27, 2007 12:23:54 PM The humor in family guy IS that they imitate scenes from other films or known events. I don't know the back-story of half of the scenes there but I look them all up and get a good laugh. I had no clue there were so many on The Simpsons! |

Thursday, September 27, 2007 6:55:54 AM 'And people accuse family guy of stealing??' 'When people shout "Simpsons did it first" they are probably wrong :)' Theres a difference between intertextuality and plagiarism; the simpson's writers knew and understood the references they were making. Family guy cant make intertextual references to the simpsons because the texts are too similar. |
