Saturday, September 08, 2007 2:02:45 AM Dean, ukemi (how to fall) is about rolling. The impact starts at the back and you differ it through your shoulder to your hand. Or, you could land on your hand and roll so that the impact goes through your back (saving your hand.) It depends on how you land. Either way, it's a type of roll, which means the back, shoulder, and hand are all involved. He did a great example of ukemi. It takes a lot of practice but becomes second nature and makes total sense once you get it. |
