Thursday, August 23, 2007 9:17:56 AM The rotating strip signs can be driven by a single motor (or maybe 2 motors, top and bottom) The display in this video would need thousands of actuators for a hign quality image. It's just not worth it...It's clever, but not worth it, you could create the same effect with holographics and computer graphics. |

Thursday, August 23, 2007 8:37:21 AM they make billboards that have like..3 different signs on them. they rotate to show the next sign. i'm pretty sure that counts as a display system that moves... |

Thursday, August 23, 2007 8:32:38 AM I don't really like it...theres way too much to go wrong. Each little tile needs to be moved, and thats a hell of a lotta' motors/actuators. Why make this when you can make it digital? SOmeone just showing off I think. |

Thursday, August 23, 2007 6:49:15 AM Aw, I thought it'd be like those screens in Minority Report, where you move the screens without touching them. Still cool. |

Thursday, August 23, 2007 3:58:22 AM The screen doesn't emit light, right? it just moves? the lighting is done by lamps focusing on the screen, right?Nevertheless it is an eye-catcher. |
