DellSucks, you want proof, and I've got it.
Go ahead and read the different biographies written about Tony Hawk. In most of them, it will talk about how he was a gifted student, and how he was put into advanced classes after being psychologically evaluated.
Rodney Mullen is a science nerd. His occupation is mainly skateboarding related, but he is also an engineer. If you know anything about that, you know that you don't become one by not going to college.
And look at the pro skaters out there that have lasted so long. Skateboarders have a short attention span, so a lot of pros don't last long at all. You have to be smart to be out there for 20 years or so. You have to keep coming up with new stuff, and you have to know how to please people... Sure, that may not be very academic, but they are making smarter moves than many people.
Look around on Google, and you will find more examples of educated skateboarders than I have here. |
