"what if he were telling the truth?? should the defensive line always go for that qb right after its alive? or should they be smarter and be kind of that qb who believes that the ball is bad??"

Once the ball goes into movement they should nail the guy with the ball.

I just like when the coach or whoever says "Go." That was the best part.

^^ You can't return a field goal. Do you mean it was a missed field goal?

That play reminded me of the Bears game where Hester returned a field goal for a 108 Yard touchdown run. The other team thought the play was over and started to walk but then hester turned on his speed and went all the way

^ The level of detail with which you describe football leaves me with the distinct impression that you love men.

Football is just d-mned stupid anyway.

Woohoo. Let's all go spend hundreds of dollars for tickets to something FREE ON TELEVISION, so we can see lots of big, muscular, sweaty men run around chasing a piece of leather. Yay...

phinphan, I think Kurt Warner did something like that during a Rams game. It sounds familiar.

That reminds me of a dolphins jets game years ago.the dolphins had the ball on the jets goal line and time was running out. They were out of time outs and everyone expected Dan Marino to spike the ball and stop the clock. He took the snap and everyone stood up,The reciever walked into the endzone and Marino threw a touchdown pass. Jets didnt know what happened. So it can happen in the nfl.

I saw the hidden ball trick when I was a kid at a San Francisco Giants game many years ago. The pitcher tried to pick off the runner at first base, but he didn't get him. The first baseman, who had the ball, walked over towards the mound to tell the pitcher something. The runner on first thought that the first baseman had given the pitcher the ball, but he had it in his glove. The pitcher pretended to get ready to pitch the ball, so the runner took his lead. The first baseman tagged the runner out. It was hilarious.

I agree with patridiot. that was cheap for a little league game. just because it is legal doesn't make it right...poor sportsmanship

The coach that called that should be ashamed. He's using his intelligence of the game against children. Ugly sportsmanship. Bad coaching. I'd take my kid off his team if that's the type of teaching he has to offer.

I've seen that play at least twice. The defenses must not have been coached well. When I played, we always had a designated QB spy on the defense for those occasions when things didn't seem right (mainly if something seemed like a trick play). Also, the defensive line was taught to jump as soon as the ball was snapped, and everyone was told to play until the whistle. No whistle = live ball. That QB should never have made past the right tackle.

they got the idea from The Longest Yard, but it is quite clever. loopholes always work.

Way back when I played football this trick would have never worked. I was the noseguard (the person who played directly across from the ball on defense for those who don't know american football) and was taught that as soon as the center lifted the ball up to smash into him.

This is one of those tricks that only works once (if at all) and then ends up back firing since everyone from that point foward will be out to hammer you to make sure you don't trick them. Ah well.
