Monday, July 30, 2007 12:24:36 AM According to this, floppy disks actually do filter for infra-red light, so that part makes sense. This site says that remote controls work by sending pulses of infra-red, like Morse code, so changing the focus of the beam seems irrelevant. Perhaps when the guy who made the video was playing around with the focus, he ended up moving the light on and off the sensor, in a way that corresponded with one of the codes. Turning the flashlight on and off would probably do the same thing. |

Sunday, July 29, 2007 3:59:38 PM wow tagged this as fake to begin with but its even better browsing comments and seeing so many people want to try it!the only way two pieces of floppy could create different frequencies is if they were rotating and polarized light. and even that might not do it. and since they are stationary im assuming that the dude was suggesting that they filtered out everything but IR? |

Saturday, July 28, 2007 11:42:23 PM So am I to believe that a piece of floppy disk will convert a flashlight into an IR transmitter? I'm calling BS until someone actually gets this to work. Plus, different TVs use different IR signals. So finding a flashlight setting that works with your specific TV's functions is 1 in a million. |

Saturday, July 28, 2007 8:03:19 PM The remote recently broke on my TV, and i can't find a universal remote that will work on it, because it's such an obscure brand name; BTW anyone know where i can buy a universal remote that will work on a 20 year old ELECTROHOME TV? |

Saturday, July 28, 2007 3:48:54 PM IT DOESN'T WORK! BLOODY HELL WHAT IS WRONG WITH EVERYONE?But you know if you drive a car fast enough (22mph) and jump out at 12:00, you can go back in time. It's true 'cause I saw it on Metacafe and I believe everything the money-making idiots on there tell me. |
