Monday, July 30, 2007 9:55:05 PM why are people so worked up about this? its not that special, all animals are like this. animals sense changes in people. the cat isnt killing them he just sits next to them during the final hours, its actually really sweet. when my mom was pregnant with me she didnt want her family to know, and her grandma's cat jumped on her lap and started purring and the cat usually didnt like my mom and stayed away. theres been tons of cases like this before.but the cat is a cutie<3 |

Saturday, July 28, 2007 8:57:39 PM has anyone considered that there might be something about the cat that's causing respiratory failure or cardiac arrest with prolonged exposure? |

Friday, July 27, 2007 2:34:20 AM no no i don't mean to say they're mean at all, i like cats. it's just how nature works, cats don't necessarily respect the dead as we do. |

Friday, July 27, 2007 2:23:22 AM I hope this doesn't sound bad, but I think it's kind of cool. Yes, the cat has a keen sense for these things, apparently, but maybe the cat didn't want the older people to be alone during their final hours. They say cats have a keen sense for the dead. They can see spirits, and in this case, can sense when someone is about ready to pass. The nursing home should feel honored to have this kitty at their establishment! Oh, and another thing - not all cats are mean, and shiggiddy... I have THREE cats that like to curl up on my nexk to be affectionate. My cats have never been mean to anyone! As with any animal, it all depends on how they are raised. If any of you have mean pets, then maybe you should've treated them better when they were little. My husband and I also have a dog that is as equally friendly as our cats are.

Friday, July 27, 2007 1:19:04 AM when a cat curls up on your chest, it's not being affectionate, it's checking whether you're still breathing. if a cat finds you dead, it's found a rather plentiful food source. i imagine the cat in this nursing home doesn't have enough time to do much damage before one of the people working there finds the person has died. especially with them specifically watching it, now that it's gotten a bit famous |

Thursday, July 26, 2007 10:43:42 PM Very very sweet. But in answer to the people freaking out, it appears (if you read the article) that they were not aware of what was going on at all. I mean the cat is in the Alzheimer's & Dementia ward. At that late stage those poor folks aren't really understanding ANYTHING. |
