Thursday, July 12, 2007 12:53:53 AM Heh, knew the first two immediately (sewing enthusiast). BUT, they spelled it "armsaye" and it's actually "armscye". Gawd, it bugs me soo bad too. I'm pathetic. >.> I knew the dragees too. Heh. I'm so strange. |

Wednesday, July 11, 2007 9:51:02 AM In the article they say that the word "Octothorpe" was created by Bell Labs' engineer Don Macpherson in the 1960s by combining octo-, as in eight, with the name of one of his favourite athletes, 1912 Olympic decathlon champion Jim Thorpe. In fact this ancient symbol for numbering derives from thorpe, the Old Norse word for a village or farm that is often seen in British placenames. The symbol was originally used in mapmaking, representing a village surrounded by eight fields, so it was named the octothorp, "8 fields". Just to let you know! And now... What the drat, geek |

Tuesday, July 10, 2007 10:01:53 PM ^^I heard something similiar that goes: "A man was born with no eyelids, so doctors took some skin from his anus and made him some eyelids, but now he has a crappy outlook on life." |

Tuesday, July 10, 2007 9:43:25 PM My dad has a term that should be added to the list:Rectaloptomy - a surgery that severs the the optic nerve that runs from the eye to the anus, thus healing the patient from his crappy outlook on life. When my dad shared that with me, I laughed so hard I cried. |
