Props to the newscaster for refusing to read the story. Paris Hilton is probably one of the most spoiled brats in the history of this country. I mean, she's famous for absolutely no reason at all. Who really cares if she gets carted off to jail, honestly? It's like the American media has taken leave of its senses. There were newspeople who were covering the coverage of Paris Hilton's release, for crying out loud! And while America is being forced to hear about how Paris goes about her messed-up life, the UK gets a new Prime Minister, genocide is still going on in Darfur, people are still dying in Iraq, and in the US, the Senate declined to extend debate for a bill that would allow for the 12 million illegal immigrants to eventually gain US citizenship. So now the question is asked: What is news in our world now?I agree with Craig Ferguson on this one.

My God, it's about time! I'm sure a lot of other professional journalists feel the same way she does. I can't even believe that tabloid fodder seems to be making national news, let alone local stations getting in on the circus. It should offend all of us that the news is dumbed-down for stories like this-who are they trying to appeal to? So, this story being the lead story for the day is an even bigger insult to American intelligence! It seems as if Mika had a prior discussion about this being the lead story, so no wonder she was so perturbed.
Save Paris for the end-of-show gossip piece or just leave her drama for The National Enquirer!I went to college for THIS?
