Wooow. I wonder if she got fired. They're supposed to be non-biased.

I'm sick of celebrities getting so much attention for doing nothing or going to jail. It is sickening.

um...the newslady actually gave more attention to Paris Hilton by acting like that than she would've by just covering the story...

Well good for her.
I'm so freaking tired of hearing about fcking Paris Hilton.
It is pretty stupid that her story would take precedent over something that's actually important.
Ugh.

It takes about 46 muscles to frown, but only 4 to stretch out your arm and punch Paris in the face.

I'm completely with her. When something minor happens to a celebrity, it's everywhere when there are bigger issues taking place.
I also wish that more people in the news would stand up for themselves like that..

"Disprove me."

Bert10099, you clearly have no idea what I was hinting at. The fallacy of your argument is that you allowed IAB viewership trends to reflect a whole society of people and that's just bad statistics any way you cut it. Your end statement may be valid (I don't care if it is, that's not my point), but your methods are deplorable.

All celebrity news and shows of that sort are nothing but a distraction, a distraction from the real news. Thousands of innocents are dying in Iraq, while hundreds die each day in Darfur and many other regions of Africa. Millions around the world are starving, and living in extreme poverty. But of course news like "PARIS HILTON OUT OF JAIL" is far more important than millions dying from something that can be stopped.

Chances are that nobody will read this, but hell at least I feel better now.

F*ck Paris Hilton (or stay away if you're afraid of crabs). The more people talk about her, the more attention she's getting. So she was sent to jail and was finally let out after she droved intoxicated one day. Lots of people do. The fact that this this link has gotten so many comments proves that she's succeeded in getting her name and face out to the world. I'm ashamed that I know who she is, but I have to agree with almost everyone else here. That lady is awesome!

I said:
"Goes to show, this society is too celebrity obsessed."

I changed my mind. I want someone, anyone, who ***lives in the United States***, to prove me wrong. Anyone.

Good luck.

I really appreciate what she stands for but I wish she had done it in a slightly more dignified manner - she didn't yell or anything but her overall demeanor could have been a little more professional. Either way, thank god someone said something.

"People just don't get it. PARIS HILTON IS THE NEWS. They report news 24/7, and there isn't 24 hours worth of news to report. That is the only thing these crappy news shows can talk about because it is the only thing worth mentioning after you get the daily events out of the way."

No news to report?
-Medicare
-Immigration
-Problems in the White House
-Natural Disaters
-Foriegn affairs
-North Korea and nuclear possibilities
-Terrorism
-Economy
-School funding
-Deaths
-The WAR in Iraq and Afghanistan

There's a list of things you can get some news on. But, once you just "get it out of the way" then you can report something on Paris Hilton.

Once you get the deaths of our soldiers "out of the way."
