Free and brave, huh? They're two of the things that come to mind when I think about my country and countrymen. The only difference between the U.S.'s so called international stereotype and that of most other cultures is timing. In the past European, Middle Eastern, Far East, Russian, etc. cultures actually engaged in imperialism. Violently putting down resistance (or at least attempting it) to their ways of thinking. Ahhhh, but back in the day, that sort of thing was fine. Of course, there weren't global sources of information like there is today. Long story short, leave us alone, and we'll do the same. If however our "decadant" lifestyle forces you to blow up some buildings, or kill our citizens, expect to reap what you sow. |

lol, no its not thats the American anthem which Im laughing at, its the over idealised "we're so great!" aspects of national anthems! Britain is the same, "God Save The Queen"... why should some non-specific deity protect this non elected sponger head of state? Rule Britannia is just as good, "Britannia Rules The Waves!" ... bit out of date there! lolBut you MUST admit, that since that song was written, "free" and "brave" arent always the things that come to mind about the US, are they? You guys take me too seriously, Im nobody of consequence, lol. |

AAAArgh.... America is a more violent place then Europe by Fractions of a percentage point. Is .005 not half of .01???? So we're twice as violent!?? I love in Los Angeles. I go to Hollywood every weekend. I play poker at a casino in Compton. And I only see 1 or 2 random acts of violence a year (fistfights). So, where is this violent America everyone keeps talking about?(However, our warmongering neo-con administration is violent to other nations, which I do not support. Yet the point remains, inside our borders, it's really not bad. For violence go to Venzuela or South Africa) There. |
