To the person earlier who asked if anyone's beat mario....yes...wayyyy back when at the arcade, I played the original SMB all the time. My arcade had a contest that if you beat the high score of a game, you won 4 free tokens. I'd pay a token, beat my old score, get 4 free, play 3 other games, then beat my old smb score by a little bit. repeat ad naseum. They hated me.
If you've beat the nintendo version, try finding an arcade machine of it. it's actually a lot different (and a bit harder) on the coin-op. Anyway, you save the princess, you get a quick congrats message, then (if i remember the point total right) 100,000 points for each life you have left. Then game over
