so, this was totally awesome!!! does anyone know where to find more of this stuff? i actually swatted at the left side of my head when he wispered, and i gasped when he "put the bag over your head" it was flippin insane! i love this sort of stuff...i dunno why but at the end i was like "please dont put some screaming picture thing at the end :S:S:S" :D |

holy crap!
this is just like this thing i went in MGM studios in disney. i came back from disney a few weeks agao, and it was this studio where everything is pitch black and you put headphones on. it starred drew carey and it was called sounds dangerous. there was actually a scene when he got his hair cut. it was awesomeee. |

This is not a holophonic recording. It's a binaural recording. With a holophonic recording you have a microphone with upto 7 microphones placed around a mount shaped almost like an egg. Holophonic Sound is produced by recording the interference pattern generated when the original recorded signal is combined with an inaudible digital reference signal. Binaural audio is recorded with a dummy head (or real) with microphones placed inside fake (or real) ear canals, capturing the modifications made by your outer ear (or "Pinna") that include all the clues your brain needs to create a fake, 3D spacial representation of the sound as it was recorded. There are a number of microphones you can buy to accomplish this. I've been doing it with a pair of SoundProfessional's In Ear binaural microphones for a while. They sit in your ear. The tool most likely used for this recording is a Neumann Binaural Dummy Head. It has realistically molded human like ears and ear canals to accurately reco |
