"since when is believing that fat is a distasteful physical characteristic close-minded?"

I don't think it's close-minded, it's a personal opinion, just like some people are attracted to the anorexically thin and morbidly obese, but the problem is that you said "generally". It gives the implication that you think it's somewhat of a rule to everyone. Besides, to get fatter just means to put on weight and some girls would look a lot more attractive for it.

No matter how much women bitch, fuss and moan... Fat is not pretty, and it never will be.

I believe you just answered your own question, swisstaco5.

Look, I get it; you're not into heavy chicks. Alright? I GET IT. I'm just saying that guys who think that way don't need to act like total douchebags about it. You've got opinions and preferences, and so do I. They're different, is all.

It was pretty good. Nice for people with thyroid problems. But it seems to me that there has to be a reason why she's fat. After all, many health problems go with being "moderately obese". I don't think people should judhe other people who are fat, but it can't be very healthy

" ... you can't see a non-thin woman and think she is attractive that is, well sad."

There's a big difference between being physically and inwardly attractive. While I don't think fat girls can be attractive physically, that doesnt mean I couldnt be friends with them.

Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but generally, the fatter a girl gets, the uglier she gets.

"This woman says that it’s ok to be fat even if you diet and exorcize but I guarantee you that no one who’s serious about diet and exorcize weighs 224 lbs"

Really? You can guarantee that people serious about diet and EXERCISE don't weigh 224 lbs? How can you guarantee such a thing? Please, explain; I'm very curious.

You know, a few extra pounds is no big deal but being 224 is not healthy. It puts strain on your muscles, bones, circulatory system and heart. I have no problem with people wanting to be comfortable the way they are but don’t pretend that there’s no down side. This woman says that it’s ok to be fat even if you diet and exorcize but I guarantee you that no one who’s serious about diet and exorcize weighs 224 lbs… Unless they’re focusing on putting on muscle mass… and she didn’t look like a body builder. She also claims that the only way to stay “thin” (read: fit) is to have thin parents, despite the fact that genetic glandular problems that cause obesity are actually pretty rare.

I really liked that. I have friends who obsess over their weight, when they're average. My mother is obese, and has been since she was young. Yes, she eats healthy food. She works. She swims.
I actually think this woman was attractive. I'm not attracted to morbidly obese people, no, but when your weight is becoming a health issue, you should probably try to slim down a bit. But if it's just how you are, be happy.
Now, coming from a girl who is naturally thin--I have my father's fast metabolism to thank for that--it's not everything. I weigh 106 pounds, which means I can't give blood. I would love to, but I can't. I am not in shape. I cannot run fast. I am fairly weak. I am not the sexiest thing on Earth. I would far rather be fat and beautiful than thin and ugly.
I used to be afraid of getting fat, because I looked at my mother before she started getting into shape, and she seemed unhappy, but she's better now. :] I no longer am scared.

I am the chick standing. If I am a cow, well then maybe I am to some. I think I am cute and I guess when my corpse is rotting that is what counts.

I like thin women too, but it is sad that you can't see a non-thin woman and think she is attractive.

So basically all of your narrow minded non-nice individuals need to stop. It's people like you that make young girls have eating disorders. And dont even try to say i dont know, because I know from experience. I've been overweight my entire life [not obese just overweight] and the fact that all my friend's wore double zeros and all the guys thought of me as their "best friend" and never more made me have an eating disorder...i've gotten over it since then but i still have extreme self esteem issues, and the non-nice individuals on here DO NOT HELP. seriously, this woman is 100% correct in everything she says and she is beautiful. so stfu.

It was quite an enlightening rant. It amazes me how people of all sizes, races, beliefs, etc. have the valor to express their views and understanding in this day and age; I’m sure not many would’ve done so many years back. Simply wonderful. I applaud her courage to speak her standpoint.

Oh, and I apologize for the double post, but I had another point to make. (I know, someone will soon tell me to shut the hell up... I'll try not to cry myself to sleep.)

You can be fat and have a healthy heart, just like you can be thin and die of a heart attack. My uncle had 13 (yes... 13 all in a row) heart attacks when he was 31. He has never been an ounce overweight. He's in incredible shape. I'm not saying that justifies it if he decides to be a lazy pig, but just assuming that a moderately overweight person will die of a heart attack is assinine.

Like I said, there's a point where people just don't control it and go overboard... but not all overweight people are like that.

Yes, there is such thing as too much. There are a vast number of people who eat whatever they want, don't do any physical activity, and then complain that they're fat.

The fact is, though, that there is too much when anything is considered. Too much of anything, food/junk food included, can be bad for you. Hell, too much vitamin C can be deadly. The point is, there are people who eat right, who do exercise, and are still overweight.

I have PCOS and Insulin Resistance. I can diet and exercise as much as the next person and lose a few ounces compare to a few pounds that an average person would lose. My energy levels are incredibly low, and I have bad knees to boot (I just love genetics). Am I disgustingly obese? No. Am I insecure? You bet. I nearly let the love of my life go because he's thin and attractive and I thought I wasn't good enough. We make each other happy.

Moderation is the key. I kinda wish thin people centered on vanity could be uncontrollably fat for a year...

"...not a death sentance.." Well let me tell you, if you are too fat you would have loads of health problems. then again, if you are too skinny you could have an eating disorder or something. So try for a healthy size not 4 million pounds or 30 pounds.

Just to show I'm not only defending the fat, my cousin eats like a horse and is skinny as a rail at a size 6. It's just the way she is, and I know quite few other people who as naturally thin as well.

"Most obese people do have a lack of self-discipline. Why do you think 94-95% of people on diets gain back their weight? Duh! "

Fat people dont lack self-discipline, people in general do. The 94-95% of people who fail in their diets are not all fat to begin with.

As for being obese, my friends boyfriend is technically obese using the height vs weight method - he's solid muscle.

My mother has done regular excersise for 8 years but is still "obese".

My sister's "obese" but carries a lot of weight in her H cup breasts. The doctors want her under 10 stone before they would consider her for a reduction, an unrealistic weight for her body type.

I'm obese (using an online chart) but am just naturally curvy with a waist UK size 12, hip size 16 and bra 36G.

But I don't think the point of the video is that being fat is ok so much as be comfortable in your own body, even if it happens to be a fat body.
