Tuesday, March 20, 2007 9:25:46 PM Yes. Inferno was indeed an amazing piece. It sounds better when it's got both the band and orchestra parts to it. It really adds a whole new depth to the pieces. All four pieces are on a CD, however there are other pieces on there by Robert W. Smith as well. The CD is called "The Divine Comedy - Symphonic Band Works of Robert W. Smith" The pieces are all performed by the George Mason University Wind Ensemble. This was the only CD I could find with all four on there. It has some other pieces worth listening to as well, so it would be worth it, in my opinion at least. I hope you enjoy the pieces when you hear them. |

Tuesday, March 20, 2007 8:39:02 PM Classical or modern, I have to say that "Inferno" was one of the best songs I've ever heard performed by an orchestra, and I've been performing in and going to concerts for eight years now. I would love to hear the other three. Do you know if there are any albums that all four might be on? |

Tuesday, March 20, 2007 6:28:40 PM by the way, his bow tone might've sounded rough because he was making it sound as much like the original version as possible. and we all know that guitars don't flow between sounds very easily as a violin does.this is merely speculation, of course |

Tuesday, March 20, 2007 6:20:32 PM SanityInsane, the piece that the orcehstra played, "Inferno", is from the Divine Comedy written by Robert W. Smith to go along with the books written by Dante Alighieri. The "Divine Comedy" is a series of books about a dream Dante had involving the rings of Hell and the acsension to heaven. There are 3 other pieces in the music. "Purgatorio", "The Ascension", and "Paradiso" follow it. I played all 4 pieces last year in my highschool's Symphonic band. And yes.. I am a very intense classical musician |

Tuesday, March 20, 2007 6:26:32 AM (fodarexiii-not too young, probably just bad taste in music) That was pretty good, I'd like to hear what he could do to some 90's grunge music though... |
