Our neighbors son is on meth, and he tried to burn their house down! The house was nothing but bright orange. Needless to say, their son is now sitting in jail - THANK GOODNESS!!!

hylianninja, pot isn't addictive. I do it about once every 3 or 4 months. and i had a period where i did it for about 5 months straight, then i just stopped unless someone offered some to me for free(which hardly happens).. You're one of those people that actually believes those anti marijuana ads. my point is though, that i've always been able to stop whenever. And all of my friends that do it are the same way..

I thought the Just Once one was really good. Because it's absolutely true. Young kids always find an older role model and I know that I care too much about the little girl that looks up to me to let myself be that bad of an example to her.

Over all the ads were really good though and the prints ads were amazing too.

We had a presentation about this last year at my school and the mentioned that meth addicts will eat their scabs in order to get high and frankly the mere thought of that is enough to turn me off meth forever.

xScalawag: lol I just read your post: "...in kindergarten the teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up and I said "An alcoholic!" and the teacher asks, "...Why?!?" I said, "You get to eat cookies all day!"
I got put in time out." That sounds pretty funny. Hope I don't sound inconsiderate though.

I agree with cannibal151. The "Parents" one was pretty funny. I understand the concept behind it, but listening to him scream and see them try to go to bed is funny. How can they sleep through that, and why wouldn't they just call the cops. I didn't get that bathtub one though. Was that supposed to be her future self (maybe a few days or weeks at most) warning her not to do meth when the decision shows up soon?

We should have ads like these on TV, instead of stupid ones about how marijuana makes you run little kids over with cars, or makes you go straight to crack.

My favorite was "Jumped". But really... all were extremely good and... frankly terrifying and effective. They scared me. Good thing I've never tried any drugs in my life and never will.

... *smokes some meth for her first time*... jk.

I hate that character limit. Because there's just one more thing.

"Right and a 30 second clip about stereotypical scenarios..."

Oooh, stop right there. Later on you come onto stereotyping teenagers as all being disfunctional and paranoid about their parents. Bit of hypocrisy there. Not all of us are delinquents. Scare tactics do work against the people who actually still give a damn about themselves. But those people are often swayed by peer pressure, so the government tries to sway them back. Stereotypical scenarios or not, they're perfectly likely to happen to anyone, as you never know if you'll get addicted.

One final note about willpower. If you think you have the willpower to try drugs once and stay off, then you're a fool. If you have the willpower to say no to them altogether, you're a hero.

Hehe, I wonder how many people will read this to the end.

scary. they all hit me in a way like "dude! omg" humanity does need looking after and stopping drugs like meth should be... idk, more harsh and assertive than it is now... i mean, shoving a meth-head in jail isnt going to help that much; they'll just run back to it like before...
and i think there are some things that ppl should be swayed by...

Hmm...lots of these comments really pissed me off. I think I'll leave Hylian and Pimpman420 alone...not only because no one wants to hear about them again but because who can take guys fancying themselves to be ninjas or pimps seriously?

So Mistoroboto. Couple of things I really don't like.

"I do not think it is the right of the government to tell us what we can and can not do to our own bodies."

Err..nah. Look at humans...they're stupid. They need looking after. It's all about paternalism, to stop people harming themselves. It's like stopping a baby playing with a carving knife. Sure, it's free to do so, but to let it play with it is really bloody stupid.

"might change the few who are easily swayed by just about anything"

Well then it's a huge success! And teenagers would rethink drug habits. But you're like the ones who think they know more than the experts. You wouldn't be affected, so suddenly no one else should be, and if they are they are weak.

Oh no! Doing meth will cause you to view all web pages as white screens of nothingness!

Yeah, I guess it didn't load correctly.

Sure everyone can chose for themselves, but at least be educated enough to chose wisely. Nothing good will ever come out of using meth." Right and a 30 second clip about stereotypical scenarios regarding meth really educates people. People will always find a vice no matter what it is. It might change the few who are easily swayed by just about anything, but no teenager will honestly rethink their drug habits. Scare tactics don't help teenagers, it just reinforces their paranoia about parents and their use of a given media outlet.

So you're saying the we should just let people use meth because we can't do anything to stop them?

...y'know, I'm looking at what I just posted and realizing that molecules make chemicals. Either way the point still stands that Marijuana was lacking that 'addictive' value in it's descriptions. It's not the same.

The commercials are targeted towards the meth user.

In "Boyfriend," the girl is prostituting herself to a man that pays her boyfriend with, what else, a baggie of meth, of which he gives to her.

"my boyfriend takes care of me"

Meth: DEA webpage on Meth.
"Addiction is a chronic, relapsing disease, characterized by compulsive drug-seeking and drug use which is accompanied by functional and molecular changes in the brain."

Marijuana: Basic info on Marijuana Second link is better.
In short, Marijuana (as Pimp said) alters a person psychologically to where they might want to keep doing it because it makes them feel happy. This is addicted like a video game is addictive, but not a physical need that creates withdrawal.

Second DEA Marijuana Page
No where on here does it mention 'addiction' as defined above, 'both chemical -and- molecular changes in the brain'.

carnivia2: I explained 'boyfriend' on page four.

canoeguy: Click the picture. -.-

I'd like to know why so many people have this 'careless' attitude and negative outlook on this. THOSE are the people I hope rot in hell. How dare you get so arrogant to stop giving half a damn about anyone else, and to even step in and negate a positive attempt to help other people make better decisions (whether it works or not). Seriously. Are you that desperate for attention? Here's your attention: STFU and go to hell.

I'm so sick of people who have this whole 'who cares' or 'it's funny' attitude. You're not cool, not cute, and obviously just a lonely idiot crying for attention.

As for this whole physical vs psychological thing? Anyone looked up the facts yet? I'll be happy to if no one links just to shut the lot of you up so you can refocus on the important aspects (once again stated on page four).

So glad I don't do that crap anymore. A lot of my friends who did X started using it to stay up longer... like a dumba$$ so did I, and before long it became a daily thing. I barely ate and stayed up for days. Ugh. So yeah, don't do meth.

I am a teen and even though I have common sense to NEVER smoke or do any drugs, if I ever wanted to do a drug, these videos would scare that idea right out of me!! Very effective. But I do know lots of kids who WILL still say "That won't happen to me" and then they get HIV and such...
