Tuesday, March 13, 2007 8:23:21 PM Splurby: First, look up the definition. It WAS an invasion. Secondly, the reason for invading Iraq, the whole argument the US put forward at the time, was entirely to do with WMDs and not Saddam's regime. The 'evidence' for WMDs was so wrong that it went beyond incompetence. It eventually became clear it had all been fabricated or twisted (the debacle which forced Colin Powell, who had presented the evidence to the UN, to resign). Thirdly, am I the only one who considers the 50,000+ civilian deaths so far more of a tragedy than the 3,000+ US troops? I don't see any cause to celebrate. "We went into Iraq to fight for those who could not fight for themselves" - good job so far.The US did not invade Iraq to liberate it. (If human rights were the issue, why are they now eyeing up Iran, rather than DR Congo, Sierra Leone, the Sudan, North Korea, Cambodia...) The original excuse was WMDs, and talk of liberation came next when that didn't wash. The liberal media aren't the o |

Tuesday, March 13, 2007 7:04:53 PM Aside from the iRack joke .The ipod is good, but they kinda made a point that I could take a dump in my pants, call it the "oops iCrapped myself", and people would buy it. Clever though. |

Tuesday, March 13, 2007 6:57:23 PM "What is really sick is that everyone complains that over 3000 troops have been killed in Iraq. That is a number we should all be celbrating. That is a victory of technology and superior medical care (and strategy) at work. 20 Years ago it would have been in the tens of thousands. Also, I find it sick and disheartening that all the people that want to pull out of Iraq will do so for the wrong reasons. If we pull out, not only will we tall the rest of the world, "America will fight a war for a few years and then retreat" (which will embolden our enemies and therefor kill more troops.) but, you will also take ALL the support away from the citizens of Iraq thus leaving them virtually defensless to their enemies. We went into Iraq to fight for those who could not fight for themselves... we gave the weak a voice and if we stick, then it will get stronger. I believe the French did the same for us in the Revolutionary War..."LMFAO RETARD |

Tuesday, March 13, 2007 6:48:28 PM Unfunny, and it really could have been. And the idea behind conservative and liberal is liberal is more socialist (big government), conservative is more capitalist (big business). Those who want to get out of Iraq just because their party wants it are sheep. But that aside, we should get out of it because we're hurting both our country and theirs at the present time. |

Tuesday, March 13, 2007 5:57:24 PM "So why, in your opinion, did the US invade Iraq?"To answer your question: First, we did not INVADE anyone. We went into Iraq to oust a lunatic ruler who would rather kill his own people than cooperate with the free world. Intelligence at the time said they had WMD's... We never found any. That would not be the first time intelligence was wrong. However, WMD's aside, Sadam's sadistic dictatorship would be enough reason to go in. Also, military leaders ALWAYS new that it would be this difficult. The ignorant American masses demanded a time limit be put on the war. What people apparently do not understand is that you can never put a time limit on anything so massive. War is not surgical... nothing is gaurunteed. It takes quite an effort to rebuild a destabalized country. The factt hat our own nation is not behind the war effort means we will not succeed. More to follow... |

Tuesday, March 13, 2007 5:12:44 PM I saw this on TV and couldn't stop laughing. Michael McDonald is my favorite. I guess this was so funny to me because I have negative views on the "War on terror," and being a computer geek I find anything to do with making fun of computer legends funny. <33333 You Micheal! |

Tuesday, March 13, 2007 5:09:17 PM "thats not am american thing ive only ever herd about 4 people ever say it that way and i corrected them." Everyone around here says 'eye-rack' except like, three or four people I know, myself included. Only recently have people been saying otherwise. It bothers me when they say it that way... especially my history teacher. He says it all twangy like. |
