booooo
time travel is a load of BS
his efforts are in vain.
he needs to get over his dads death, it happens

this clip was taken from a show on televison, so obviously he couldnt explain his whole plan in the six-some minutes shown here.

spacetime confuses/intrigues me, and i'd love to see time travel become possible someday =]

Just think.
at least we're attempting to get somewhere.
Regardless of whether he's making progress or not, he's giving one hell of an effort.
The world needs more people like this.

that spinny time space thing actually made sense

If he really invented a time machine, his father would be alive today. Just think about it.

this video is total crap that presents nothing revolutionary, why the high rating?

The earth rotates about its axis, and the earth rotates around the sun, the sun rotates around the galactic center, the galaxy is moving about the universe, the universe is moving around/about (what? if the universe is a term for all that exists then what is it expanding into?)?? How fast are we really moving then =P

And how the hell could it reach that point in space after the initial time travel expedition? A secondary black hole created solely for the purpose of its teleportation to its targets time-modifed location?

The funny thing is, the earth spins as it rotates around the sun, which could be spinning around some other body. The entire universe is expanding. Its all a very crooked deal that means nothing might ever really pass by the same point in space twice. Or is this "particle" that is "fired" into this "black hole" equipped with a homing device to locate exactly where this "time machine" was at "located" the time it is being sent to?

As for paradoxes. These couldn't happen as you could never travel back to a point before the machine was switched on as the spinning space would no longer exist. Hence why he can't send himself instructions on how to build the machine.

The column of intense laser light has the same effect as a rotating black hole. It drags space around with it thus creating a column of space spinning at near light speed. The sub atomic partical would then be fired into the column also at near light speed.

Within the spinning area of space the partical never passes light speed and so laws of physics are preserved, but the combined velocity of both the partical and the space it's travelling through, relative to the rest of the universe, will actually be far greater than that of light causing the partical to travel back in time.

I actually know this theory and it is possible.

According to relativity as you approach the speed of light time slows down eventually stopping all together when you reach light speed. Once you pass light speed time then starts to reverse.

The problem is the laws of physics state that nothing can go faster than light.

This is where the lasers come in.

Doesn't matter. At the end, the perceived protagonist will destroy the machine while uplifting 80s music, or possibly a very melodic inspirational rap song, plays in the background. If it works out really well, the world will see how it ends in 2-8 years. It'll be funny as we keep getting little snippets through all sorts of invisible mediums broadcast into our mass communication devices. Only to find out that he was the bad guy all along. Brick shatting will ensue.

Am I the only one who sees what a stupid, and completely selfish idea this is? One man wants to go back in time so he can see his dad. He's so smart, but what he hasn't considered is that if he does, in fact, learn how to go back in time, and does, and changes one thing in his life, everyone else in the world's life could be different. If his dad lived, he could meet someone who knows someone, and they'll get together, and something will happen and someone will get murdered, and that someone knows someone who knows you, it gets on the news, you freak out, etc, etc. There is a whole chain of events that could happen if one man decides to change one thing. Imaging the chaos that would ensue if EVERYONE decided they wanted to change something. Personally, I like my life the way it is, and I don't want someone else to screw it up. So sorry, no thanks, no way. Idiots.

Uh, when he put the paperclip through the paper I had a problem with that. When the paper clip left the paper, would that create a rip in time, which would inadvertently destroy everything as we know it? Like the hole in the paper?

if Eintstein was correct about the laser ring that if you make a loop it creat a loop in time and space it would unlock more then just time travel it would unlock hyperspace which in turn would unlock long distance space travel letting the human race get to diffrent planets and stars.
Or it could cause a black hole (again one of Einsteins theory's) and it would destroy the solar system.

So either way Einstein is correct about something

I have a time machine!

My memories take me to the Past.
My dreams to the Future.
I'm in the present.
(I love that quote even if it ain't exact)
Guess what NO paradoxes...

that's all well and good, but they don't seem to have any method of measuring how far it'll send the particles, and if time is in a loop, and the future is infinite, then the guy will end up floating in a white tunnel filled with clocks.
