When laying on your back, and sliding at 40+ mph (which happens a bit more often than actually hitting a car), if your helmet touches the road, a thing called friction will grab that helmet and twist. Happy broken-neck day. I'd rather lose some skin and/or hair off the back of my head, thanks. An WWI leather pilot-cap would be better than a fiberglass helm.If you IMPACT anything going fast enough that a helmet would make a difference, you're most likely going to die anyway. Or at least end up paralyzed from the neck down. Helmets kill. |

Yeah she is right. There shouldn't be a helmet law because the only recent fatel bike wrecks in Austin have been hit and run. A helmet wont save you when a truck hits you at 60 on the highway. Yeah you can ride bikes on the highways in Austin (thanks Lance..), somthing i disagree with. They think they are cars. |

She is the perfect example of why you should wear a helmet. Her arguments were flawed, at best, and she wasn't able to connect her thoughts. Addled in the brain, perhaps? Let that be a warning to you, wear a helmet or be this woman.Also her song was a cheap shot at the councilman and had no relevance. On the other hand, she sang better than many people I know (now that's a scary thought).
