Yeah, my teacher did that last year, I think. Still cool. We also did that thing where you add some chemical to make the penny hollow (just the copper shell left).

well it's actually brass(gold) and zinc(silver) pennies. You should've learn this in your chemistry class

technically, its illegal to TURN the penny the dfferent color, not just use it, youre defacing government property

That's cool. But seriously, it's illegal to damage coins...not that anyone cares about that law anyways. So basically, when you use one of those penny press machines at tourist attractions, you're breaking the law. But as I said, no one cares, although you can't use them.
