Friday, December 01, 2006 9:34:03 PM from what i heard, from other people if anyone didnt understand what happens is if you look at the end of the fork and spoon they go past the fulcrum point (where the toothpick meets the glass) therefore counter balancing or acting agianst its own weight... hope it helps

Friday, December 01, 2006 10:17:07 AM The cutlery is the fulcrum? Then how is the fulcrum supported? Someone post a diagram of all the forces involved, because I just can't visualize it. |

Friday, December 01, 2006 10:09:27 AM I did it and it worked, but then the fork came loose and tried to stab me in the eye. It is some kind of voodoo pooze. |

Friday, December 01, 2006 7:55:37 AM Come on people. The half of the toothpick doesn't "balance" the weight of the cutlery. Why are you so amazed by this trick??? The weight balance is in the ends of the cutlery. It would be amazing if you could chop the handles off and see it still balance. This was a lame post. |

But there isn't anything to keep them falling away from the glass. If it's simple physics, it should be simple for you to explain. OfflineJagjamin Male, 18-29, Australia 51 Posts Thursday, November 30, 2006 4:41:50 AM I dont see how he initially balances it in the first place. The toothpick cannot possibly counterbalance the spoon&Fork. ---- sigh the handels go past the center of balance of the toothpick and the removal of part of it isn't enough to upset the equilibrium. |
