"why don't all the people concerned with overpopulation/pollution/whatever don't kill themselves off first so that they no longer contibrute to the problem?"
Good Grief spoonfork... It's genius! They should start right away! Oh, and if the world was suddenly so perfect, who would enjoy it? We don't know that a people-less earth is a better one really..

Hrm... doubtful on the CO2 emissions bit... CO2 would still be high since there's the natural cycle of greenhouse gases rising and falling. And that's hoping a volcano doesn't erupt. Volcanoes put more CO2 in the atmosphere than humans could ever dream of.

"wouldnt it be cool if we could all just dissapear for 50 years then come back> the world would be a better place..."

What!? No it wouldn't! That would suck! That would be like the complete opposite of cool.

No one would be around to care if the enviroment is nice. It wont make the spiders smile, the elephants dance. And I dont think methane would be gone everything craps

but I must say

"they'd dig up human fossils and be like holy $hit zomgs wtf."

I found that quite hilarious, roaches will become noobs ><

Ya mum... roaches will never develop to be intelligent until they can grow an internal skeleton, stand on their hind legs, develop sweat glands (which leads to speach development as it frees up the lungs- no longer having to pant to stay cool) and evolve a brain big enough to capacitate such activity. By then, they'll be as much roaches as we are now.

thats all a load of bull$hit. heres my theory: humans die because we all kill ourselves with nuclear war and the whole world is in a state of nuclear winter and everything dies and roaches are the only living species on the planet (coz as u noe roaches are immune to radiation) and so roaches survive by eating other roaches and then in a billion or so years roaches evolve and the radiation subsides and other species form but then roaches are the dominant species just like humans are now and they have evolved to become extremely intelligent and build roach cities and are smarter than us humans now and they'd dig up human fossils and be like holy $hit zomgs wtf. (dam thing censors the word C!O!C!K so i cant spell c-o-c-kroaches)

O_O Never has my favourite badge been more appropriate...

"Save the planet. Kill yourself."

I've had that badge for three years, too...

Voluntary Human Extinction is a real movement. I think rather than killing oneself they promote not breeding. Somehow I doubt it will take off, seems like we'd rather just breed ourselves into extinction through overpopulation. Though it would be nice if we could find a middle ground.

Yeah, thats a no. Nitrogen is supposed to be in the air, it makes up 70 percent of it, in fact.
Wooden bridges last for much longer than this proposes. There are wooden bridges well over that mark that are still standing strong.

There is an equal amount of evidence disproving global warming and all that hoo-hah. I believe in its existence to an extent, but I don't think it'll have "catastrophic effects" on the world.

Funny, how *everyone* predicted massive hurricanes destroying the gulf coast of the US and we haven't had even one major hurricane THREAT, let alone one to actually hit.
