Friday, September 01, 2006 7:59:10 AM Pro rugby players come and play american football, as punters cause they can't handle the other positions. The hits are much harder in the NFL than rugby because players aren't afraid to hold back because they have padding. I have played both sports and american football is a much harder hitting sport and left me in more pain than rugby ever has |

It's called RUGBY. LOL My uncle lost a leg to football. Look at David Busst's right leg in this picture. http://www.360soccer.com/images/bussted.... |

Wednesday, August 30, 2006 7:12:14 AM grid iron players look kinda dweeby once they take the padding off though. heavy forbid the poor boys get grass burn. Rugby is way better - just padded head gear, mouth guard and MAYBE foam shoulder pads |

Tuesday, August 29, 2006 3:55:28 AM ok, all these arguments about soccer and football. here in Aussieland we have Touch football, AFL (Aussie Rules), Rugby union, Rugby League, Grid Iron (American Footy), Aus-TAG (like touch but with velcro strips you rip off - mostly school sport), and Gaelic football.sorree for trying to make things simple by calling it soccer. |

Monday, August 28, 2006 9:47:07 PM only one way to settle the 'contact sport' debate, and the 'football/soccer' debate.. we're all gonna have to meet on a field, dressed in shin guards.. full armor.. whatever.. everyone bring their own ball.. whichever of the three.. (or more.. who knows .. ).. and we'll just all pummel the hell out of each other! ( or not.. depending on your 'contact' pholosophy..) rofl!! |

Monday, August 28, 2006 8:58:36 PM Nyennasegero and Osprey39...you're probably right. In the UK though, there is no misconception that it's a non-contact sport because much of the population lives and breathes the game, and argues about match incidents every saturday afternoon. That's my excuse for not picking up on Buddy's intended meaning I think it's a fair point though. |
