If the title was "Most Challenging Football/Soccer Field Ever" we wouldn't be having this arguement. Why does it matter that other places call the sport different names? Let's just end the arguement and comment on the image please.lol, you'd be able to pass the ball to yourself by kicking it up hill and letting it roll back down to you :P |

it has been proven that the word soccer came from europe, so why does it matter if we still call it that. i think it's just an underlying need to diss americans. not that we don't deserve it sometimes but lighten up a bit, nothing you say is going to change the fact of why we call football and soccer what we do.

o yea, and soccer is the hardest to play, you cant just pick it up and b good at it. my friend played soccer/futbol his whole life and then started playing baseball. next week, tried out 4 the highschool team and made it. in his blood? nah. 16 yrs of never touching a base. it just an easy sport 2 play. |

^^^ i agree, solid.bigbadgoat, a real goalie knows where the ball is going 2 go, and like u could do any better with 2 defenders on ur back trying to control the ball. okay then, 4 the africans, use a big stick. there. and once again, y do u need money 2 hav fun. i'll bet u if they all of a sudden got paid 100 trillion dollars, they would still choose soccer/futbol over any other sport. |

Oh yeah, one other thing. If anyone payed attention to the World Cup this year, they went over how the word soccer came about and explained that it was not america that came up with the word soccer and they are not the only country to use the term soccer. Most of the world does call it Futbol, but America is not the only place to call it Soccer. |

I'd just like to say that if you are going to call it Futbol, you may as well spell it correctly : F-U-T-B-O-L. That is how you spell the european version of soccer, not Football - that's how you spell the sport that the Pittsburgh Steelers dominate. |

I don't get your logic... I mean $10 is cheap here in North America, you realize how many years it would take most africans to make $10? honestly. Most of the countrie's GDP is based on agriculture, you know farms... and with farms, theres animals... and what are most balls made of? normally the skin, or some part of the digestive tract of an animals. Therefore balls, cost $0, making it quite easy, and affordable for anyone in the world to play.Listen, if you're a god damn superstar making $30M/year, and you have a net thats avout 20-30 times the size of the goaltender, and you miss the net, when the goalie's only chance of saving it is a blatant guess as to where the shooter is going to kick it, you have no excuse for not scoring every single time. I don't care. wow. you can raise the puck off the ice, no way you can hit the top corner every time, or even a quarter of the time you tried. not even gretzky could do that. |

Wow, talk about getting worked up over nothing. It's just easier to call American football "football" and to call football "soccer" here bc our football is more popular in the US. Too many syllables otherwise. So those Europeans getting bent out of shape and those others continuing the debate, relax. It's just a name. |
