hey, you know someone told me if you refuse to hang up your phone when they call, they cant make any other out going calls. so you can answer it, put it to one side and finish eating dinner or whatever and they can't do anything. i havent tried it yet though.
my brother answered one once, there was a Japanese lady with really bad english. it was pretty funny.
'is this Mr. Turner?'
'this is *A* Mr. Turner.'
'Can I speak Japanese?'
'I don't know, can you?'
(silence)
'Umm, I mean, can you speak Japanese?' |

dude, I work in a call center. we're just doing our job. If you don't want us to call back, don't swear at us, just kindly inform us that you want to be off the list, confirm we heard it and that we are doing that, and then say goodbye. Now, if you're tlaking to AOL and trying to cancel you may have to swear..... Basically, imagine if it was your kid you're talking to on the phone and it was his job. For those of you who like your kids, how would you want someone to talk to them? |

Ladies and gentlemen, I am a telemarketer. It's a job, not a career - it's a way to put food on the table. Believe me guys, the job is crap enough already before people that think it's funny start abusing us. Having to spend 8 hours a day in a cramped, noisy office on acthe phone, being expected to make another call as soon as you hang up the previous one and being treated like a lower form of life by people with different jobs in the office is not a fun environment to work in. The quickest way to end the call and stop future callbacks is to be nice and ask us to remove you from our database - if you ask, we're legally obliged to. Hang up on us and we WILL call you back another time - not out of spite, it's just our job.To reiterate, we're just doing our jobs guys, spare a thought for how poo our jobs are BEFORE you abuse us. Would you abuse someone so badly if they were actually stood in front of you? We're people too. |

Trying asking for help with your algebra homework.
Done it before,they hang up after hearing something like:
If "X" is equal to 5 and "Y" is equal to 16 and "Z" is equal to 22,what is "X" squared,raised to the fifth plus "Y" and times "Z"?
And that isn't even hard.
