I'll bet in, say, 15 years this will be popular. Hell, they've got alot more use than things like lip rings. It's only a matter of time before they make them safe enough for general use.
I'd definately get one IF they made them safer. I would love being able to feel my computer working... |

that was because the magnets were hand dipped and there were thin spots where the person was holding them. i would do it if they perfected it. |

WARNING, FOR ANYONE READING THIS. PLEASE go read the second article he posted, found on BME's main page. The magnets are NOT safe, they corrupted and he had to have them removed. Read it, and if you're considering getting these, reconsider, it is EXTREMELY dangerous. I ask that IAB post the other article with this, as this is misleading, it doesn't represent the dangers of the surgery. |

I think it's a cool idea. At first I was like WTF and got a little grossed out, but then I kept reading and it made more sense... But most people stick with their immediate reaction and don't take the time to open their minds to new ideas. Hence the people who keep making comments that "you would get stuck together" even after you explain to them that the magnets are too small and weak for that. Of course some people will think it's stupid and gross no matter what, but I guess I am just saying that peoples' closed-mindedness becomes very apparent when they are introduced to ideas outside of their norms. |
