Oh right... will do, thanks! is some of it in French then? I could persuade my mum that it's revision for my French exam!!! I heard there was a little girl auditioning, and the part requires French. She lied and said she could speak it, when she had really just learnt one phrase to convince them she could. then she had to learn all the French parts in a couple of weeks with no knowledge of the language!

see it THEN read the book...
knowing the book made it not so great of a movie.

oh yeah, and get ready for subtitles in it

ahhh ok, thanks oh i wish i coulda done it lol oh well. The film has had such mixed reviews! Got slated at Cannes, and now by you!;) But my local paper gave it 5 stars, and another review i saw gave it 4. the presenter on the radio said it was rubbish. Who to believe!?!? I think i'll see it soon anyway, just to satisfy my curiosity. It's a shame they couldn't have made it really great, but there you go.
I was thinking of not seeing it and reading the book instead, but i don't know who i was trying to kid

the cryptc they sent out is like the 5 wheel decoder from the movie.. the code to open it is written on the box it came in. Mine was GRAIL, my neighbors was APPLE, both important code words in the move. (the movie sucks, btw) the final challenge was one of each of the puzzles:
restoration
currator
puzzle
observation
and chess

You should get the email also since you got the cryptex. (i got both today)The email:

Your journey does not end here. You have also qualified to compete for the grand prize which includes trips for four to New York, Paris, Rome and London, a colossal Sony® Electronics package and more valued at over $100,000! See official rules.

Beginning on or around 1pm EDT May 19th at www.google.com/davincicode, the final challenge, which is a time trial, will be made available to you for 48 hours. You can begin whenever you like, but prepare well, for once you begin there is no turning back. The player who completes all five tasks in the shortest amount of time will be declared the winner.

As for your previous accomplishments, your skill and perseverance will be rewarded with a limited edition replica cryptex arriving in your mailbox in the coming days.

Well I did not get an email either.. i got a cryptex in the mail this morning. it was sent in a small box from california with the code on the bottom of the box to open it up. Once opened it directed me to a web site that is not valid til the 19th! The cryptex weighs about 3 pounds. Pretty neat thing. But.. No email about it at all!

I got this email the day after it ended, and yes I registered:

<b>Thank you for participating in "The Da Vinci Code" Quest on Google.

This email is to confirm that you have completed all 24 puzzles within
the quest and successfully registered for a chance to participate in
the final challenge. Well done!

We will be contacting the 10,000 finalists on Monday 5/15 via email
regarding their cryptex shipment. Within that email the 10,000 finalists

^mmm well that would be cool, not sure how many people worldwide completed it, probably quite a few! It kept telling me they couldn't process my request to register, so I gave up and tried again the next day. when i logged on it just said 'thanks for completing the challenge' or something, with no link to register... and that was before the closing date. so i'm not really sure what happened or if i managed to register or not:\ damn puzzle.

Yay, i haven't been posting in awhile but I've kept up with this religiously (no pun intended) I completed it and registered 5 minutes after last puzzle was posted.

Think any of us will be one of the ones who gets the limited edition cryptograph thing?
