really enjoyed reading those, not only funny but also clever and witty! you don't see that often in actresses unfortunately. as some of the comments here have shown they're only supposed to be pretty and thin, shame really...
i like the "marriage is a wonderful institution but i'm not ready for an institution" (or something like that)

Mae West *was* great. At least someone said the things the rest of us girls are thinking but won't say for fear of being called a slut. Ahem.And guys had lower standards back then? No. It's just that for a while now, there's been a underweight trend and a lot of media showing what we're apparently supposed to look like. That image grows up with young boys and voila. Women back then were absolutely beautiful and actually a healthy weight. |

The quotes may seem mild by today's standard but they were racy and shocking back in the 1930's. She was often censored by the movie studios. |
