Saturday, March 25, 2006 3:44:24 AM The results seemed pretty accurate. I would say that the pen/pencil is most important. |

Saturday, March 25, 2006 3:14:53 AM Yeah< I read that part, and their logic is flawed. An Axe is a combination of simple machines (a wedge and an inclined plane) whereas the knife is simple a wedge. And a wedge that gets listed TWICE with the sword (THRICE uf you want to count the chisel.)Also, wouldn't the Flint & Steel be more signifigant than the candle. The candle can merely sustain fire, something a dry log can do. A Flint & Steel can create fire, and is still used today in out modern lighters. The listmakers explaining their oversights does not excuse them. |

Saturday, March 25, 2006 1:09:36 AM If you would read the part that says, "read more about how we developed the rankings," then you would understand why the computer, wheel, steem engine, hammer, and plow were not on the list. |

Friday, March 24, 2006 8:44:16 PM Let's face it. You can't narrow down the impact tools and inventions have had on history, culture, and progression to just 20 items. Heck, I'd be amazed if you could narrow it down to 100 items. Human kind has spent too much time inventing things great and small in order to enrich our lives. |

Friday, March 24, 2006 3:20:52 PM the computer has impacted us more than almost any invention ever made. it is on the same level as the damn wheel. and they don't have either. |

Friday, March 24, 2006 1:39:23 PM Yeah Ahh Good Luck getting any use out of that Fantastic Chisle without the use of a "Hammer"Hahaha, for some reason that just sounded so funny. List sucks though. Cause I mean we all know how to use the family Lathe. The harness..... I don't even know what the hell you'd use one for. And right up there with the wheel and lightbulb we have the level..... |

Friday, March 24, 2006 10:06:19 AM No fire? Compensating for massive genetic deficiencies couldn't possibly be imporant. (Tools are defined by the manner of use - not by its manufacture.) |
