to be totally honest i'm not surprised you can't get football right, in fact I would be surprised if if you did, you got pretty much the whole language wrong anyway, spelt colour - thers a U in there, we know, we came up wioth it.

BigBonny, everytime someone makes the analogy between rugby and american football they simply state that they don't know enough about one or both of those sports. They are fundamentally very different. They may involve a similar shaped ball and posts which the ball is kicked between, but that's about it.Secondly the name "soccer" most likely originated within the UK anyway. Like people said different cultures, different ways of saying things, do you get upset at the Scots calling small things "wee", or people from Yorkshire just pronouncing the "t' pub" from "the pub"? |

The thing that is odd (although Im not really bothered what its called) is that the Americans named their sport the same name as a sport which already existed but was different, instead of naming it after the OTHER game which already exists but which is more similar, that being Rugby. And I think that's what Kyle meant by the padded thing, as American Football is essentially Rugby, but... well with armour, lol. |
