BEFORE it sucked? Are you dumb or have you lost your mind? The mid 80s were easily the worst episodes in SNL history and if it weren't for Eddie Murphy, SNL would have been cancelled.
Also, this clip basically sums up Dave Chapelle's show.

Oh yeah, and you're calling (Fermented, like my beer!) of the proverbial black person by the tag "African-American" is racist, for assuming that this person would necessarily be from Africa. There's no reason why some stuck-up black couldn't claim racism to that regard, based on their reasoning of the subject. But wait, if race doesn't exist, then how CAN one be racist?? And how are we suppossed to appreciate diversity if everyone is equal, and therefore the same?? If there is more variation WITHIN a race than between races, then we are really doing little service to the preservation of diversity through integration of public schools, and environments in general; if the diversity really exists WITHIN the races, then the only way to promote and preserve DIVERSITY is to keep them segregated!! That's where the liberal logic leads. Think the whole "two Americas" thing just MIGHT be self-imposed by the self-proclaimed ill-enfranchised of it?? |

Is that what he really thinks happens between white people?? Ha ha, it's the minorities getting all the handouts and freebies, from the GOV'T that is. It's sad how white people can engage in humorous self-deprecation with a black man leading the way, yet blacks (the vocal media blacks) are not able to do the same with a white man at the helm. Guess we're not truly "equal" 'till blacks can laugh at a joke a white man tells about them (the more true they are, the more offensive); rather than pull out a gun and go on a riot, or at least display an equal level of irritation; guess they're not truly equal to us until they can poke fun at themselves, too... the truth is funnier than the fiction, and that's what they seem to have the biggest problem with. |

Erin24, I agree with you completely.Here is my point: I am no white supremicist, racist, or anything of the sort, but to say white people, or any race has never experienced racism is naiive, it is simply not as common for a white person to be discriminated against. If I were to lable an african american as the N-word, I would most likely be considered racist (which it is). However, if an african-american were to call someone white a "cracker", it would not readily be called racism (but it also is). It seems society still has yet to catch on as to what is racism and what isn't. Might I remind you of B.E.T. (Black Entertainment Telivision), a common cable channel. What if there was to be a W.E.T. (White Entertainment Telivision)? What would it be considered? I shall let you make your own decisions, but I say screw all racism and catigorizing, generalistic society. -Fermented |

Some black people are predjudiced agaisnt whites and some whites are predjudice against blacks, but I hate to say it but it seems like black people can do that and be funny, but if a white person does it, people send in letters and claim predjudice.
I am in the middle of this, but I found that very funny, just not truthfull at all, but I find Eddie murphy awsome and that made it funny. But it was funny to a point then it got to redundant and corny. Sorry! |

Black people in white makeup never really look white . . . they just look like crazy albinos or something. Come to think of it, most cross-racial impersonations tend to be really bad. |

This was made at a time when all that racism and language was normal! how can you sit there and go mental at how racist it is? it was funny! but still, jesus, the guy is a really nice guy, used to spend hours on stage making loadsa people laugh...mainly white people! how can u say that!? lol. this was a funny clip, but dated, and plus he really did still look black...lol. anyway chill with the hostility people! |

things lyk dat clip dat make u think init!!*rolls eyes* it's a joke. it's over exaggerated. damn text speakers. but i think there was a serious documentary on this once over here with black people getting made up as white and vice versa but it makes me think - don't they get treated better for being famous anyway? it would be better doing it with non-famous people to really see a difference. they did ones disfigured more recently too, but i think they had proper cameras following them which mighta created as much stares as the make up! |
