That was great!! awsome sauce!! wish i had somthing like that in my town. we just have one street that works togeather i call it the christmas village. but as said before, peace sign is alittle gay, maybe an old light sitting around. still it was pretty cool. i just hope he has a boombox sitting out playing that song while the lights are doing the show, and make the town pay to watch. mwahahahahaha, make them pay!!! once again great. |

Tuesday, December 06, 2005 1:37:34 AM This is the most outfreakinstanding Christmas light display I've ever seen... I can't help but wonder if the music n lights are a package deal or if the music was synched to the lights or vice versa... In either case ~K~U~D~O~S~ bigtime to the videographer for capturing this n especially to the cats n kittens that busted their collective butt gettin it set up n operational... |

Monday, December 05, 2005 4:28:51 PM The guy that did the lights and music was on one of the morning shows (12/5). He is an engineer for GE in Mason, OH. It adds about $150 to his monthly electric bill. The music is broadcast over a FM channel people can tune into when driving by. |

Monday, December 05, 2005 9:55:59 AM This is in Mason, Ohio. They just had the owner on the local news in phoenix. He said it runs from 6pm until 10 pm. He had to reduce a 13 min show to 9 mins as he is getting around 300 cars a night now. |

Friday, December 02, 2005 11:54:14 PM Just some things to say:This can be made, so it doesn't have to be stopmotion or anything like that, it's just a whole lot of work to set it up. LEDs would also consume a lot of power in this setup, just calculate 35mA per LED times uhm... like 2000 or so, 0.035 x 2000 = 70 Ampere, that's a lot of juice and would require a massive power supply. I would be more concerned about power spikes when all lights go on and of at the same time. All in all it's a nice piece of work and deserves respect. The dude prolly has a life and cool (or at least happy) friends, you don't make a show like that just for yourself. Those peeps that said things like 'boring, repetitive, etc...' you try and put something like this together, you'll fail or get into it over your ears. The cables alone, each string has to be controlled seperatly, must take days to wire it up, plus setting up equipment and arranging to music. |

Thursday, December 01, 2005 8:00:41 PM I just drove by it tonight and it was very colorful. They were filming a commercial tonight at the house. The owner used Light-A-Rama software. It was very cool. |

Wednesday, November 30, 2005 2:19:03 AM Come on guys...this was a very good sync with the music, but the truth is, there were not many lights used at all. I have seen many houses using more for Halloween even. I am sure a few of you have been to concerts before. A half-way decent lighting crew, of about 3 good-old-boys, could set this up in a couple hours. I have watched the set-up of hundreds of spectacular lighting shows and with the right gear and cabling, it is not that big of deal at all. |

Monday, November 28, 2005 11:32:18 PM This house is located in Mason, Ohio (just north of Cincinnati). It is not a Photoshop edit - I checked the place out myself last night. The music is actually transmitted on a low powered FM radio band so you need a radio to hear it and can only pick up the signal near the house. They also just run the show from dark until 10:00pm, although the traffic on the little cul de sac must be pretty annoying for tose that live there. This video must be from last year since this song is not used this year (although a different Trans-Siberian Orchestra song is), but the lighting set up is the same. Snopes.com has information on this video, including information about the house location. |
