Many young rappers have found a way to "beat" the system so to speak. To have success on their terms. The snowman represents that more than it does "drugs". It represents the fact that no matter how bad his former life was, no matter how much dirt he did, in the end he was able to be legit without giving up what he feels is his roots. Where he came from. Now like it or lump it; it doesn't realy matter. Do I agree with selling drugs... No. Do I applaud his ability to turn his life around through art? Yep. I say get over your self righteous selves. He has to eat and so does everyone connected with him. Last time I checked no one was saw a problem with the popularity of mafia figures. Give it some time and the snowman will go the way of huge clock necklaces and leather africa medalions. Never heard of them? My point exactly. |

From what I have heard on the billboard charts only a handfull of the rap artists and the songs are good. I find some of them so amazing with how fast they rap and how it flows, but so much of what gets publicity is about drug use, abusing and disrespecting women, fathering children and leaving them behind, going to jail, killing people. WTF? Why would they want to talk about the most depressing and negative stuff? I can understand writing a few raps as a nod to their past and then move on to better topics, but to build a career on such negativity? I realize I may not be "in touch" with the scene or able to comprehend the history of it, but any music genre that is mostly negative turns me off. I don't have time or emotional energy to steep myself in the ugliness of someones existence. |

Don't call rap a stupid or idiotic genre just because you don't understand it. It has its low points just like any other genre but it also has some of the most talented lyricists in the music game. And to those of you who disagree please don't reply by saying whats so talented about talking about b*tches and drugs, that's all anyone ever quotes. There's a lot more substance in rap than that. |

If your 12 year old+ son comes home w/or asks you to buy a SNOWMAN shirt... well come on now. That should set a huge alarm in ones head. Why would any kid of that age wear a snowman shirt? Do these parents think these kids love frosty the snowman that much? If your this clueless don't have kids, please. Just google the words "snowman shirt" and look what pops up, it's really easier than you think it is to be aware of your own children. |

my grandparents put one of those big inflatable snowmen in fromt of their yard for the holidays. I never thought that they were dealing drugs. |
