Monday, November 07, 2005 10:18:46 AM Go pick up this months Discover magazine for info on bacteria, vaccines, and the body. Reading it made me glad I almost never take any drugs, unless I absolutely need them. |

Sunday, November 06, 2005 11:31:10 PM Hahaha. I heard that you already eat a ton of mucus everyday because it travels down your throat so either way you are technically eating your boogers! |

Friday, November 04, 2005 3:11:36 AM This comes under the same theory that you should let your kids play in the dirt, rather than keep them inside, disinfecting everything every minute of the day. When people (this is of course generalised, from what study I don't know) are exposed to certain levels of bacteria (that is, I should say when certain parts of the body are exposed to unnatural or higher levels of normal flora) their immune system builds up a resistance to this, making them healthier. Not that I've seen it, but there's got to have been a study on this subject. Adam Spencer did mention this quite some time ago on a special episode of 'The Glass House', subsequently picking his nose and eating it. I grew up playing in the dirt and picking my nose, only having a cold a year and the worst thing I've ever had is sinusitis (try blowing a bowl of custard out of your nose), which I caught off my mum. |

Thursday, November 03, 2005 10:01:16 PM Its evolution baby. Ive been doing it for years and ive been truly sick maybe MAYBE once in the past 10? its disgusting and socially unacceptable, but theres so much mucus, the liquid-y form slithering all over your esophagus, it really doesnt seem to matter after you think of that. |

Thursday, November 03, 2005 7:35:40 PM !!That's new to me!!FYI, eating your own body's by-products is totally different from eating someone else's. Eating your own snot is NOT the same as licking the handrails at your local subway stop or wherever. I don't recommend either practice, but the second one is truly dangerous. But you knew that already :) |

Thursday, November 03, 2005 3:26:21 PM Of course it makes sense because thats why you should not keep newborn babies away from every bit of dirt cos it helps the imunity system. if you keep babies constantly in a anti-bacterial enviroment all the time they will pick up every single virus they come across. but yeah ewwwwwwww it must taste pretty nasty. |
