i am shocked that so many people believe in "intelligent design". even the friggin pope is going with the evolution! that story about adam and eve has to be looked at as a story of the weakness of the human race and not as a history lesson. but in the end everybody has the right to believe what they want, no need to argue.

That was fake, my sister's cousin's uncle's son said that he knew this guy who knew this guy that was around at that time and it was not true, the end

Crap!

No mention of the stork. Everyone knows it all began with the stork!

These so called "scientists" should spend a little more time in the University of Life!

"just b/c they have evidence doesnt mean its true"

Not to sound mean, but say that aloud to yourself and tell me if that makes sense. Evidence is what proves things are true.

Anyway, we only have bits and pieces of evidence as to the history of mankind, but this is a decent start.

I dont even know if what i'm about to say is repeated ( i didnt read people's big paragraphs ) but just so everyone knows, this map doesn't disprove religon at all. The bible (assuming we are talking about christianity) doesnt contradict with this map. In fact there are verses that encourage the idea that humans started in one spot and spread.

And no, I'm not a Christian, i've just read the bible, so i can argue cases like this and not sound like a douche.

No, that was cool. And yeah, I guess a lot of you disbelievers are right, it doesn't seem as if it draws from very conclusive evidence. Still, where's this argument coming from that "it didn't happen?" I don't understand that.

Populate the island. Hawaii happened in much of the same way. Just because it was not connected to another land mass doesn't mean it wasn't in proximity with any other islands that aren't around today. Finally, the part about getting different hair colors and such from a group of people, well your argument defeats it self because god created only 2 people and one of those two was created off genetic material of the other one. Ignoring that and saying that they were both entirely different in every way, that would make only 2 possible hair colors, eye colors, skin colors, etc. The only way you could have this variation is from a group. You may not of known this but this was no small migrating group, they were more than a thousand at least. Now, i've considered your points, and they are all rubbish.

eh... lexmex, im a bit confused about what your stance is, it seems like part of your message is in favor of intelligent design and the rest is against. Ill just pick out the parts that are incredibly offensive to logic. First off, evidence is exactly what makes things true, what else would? Secondly, while you can't know everything for sure, when you have as much evidence as there is for evolution and the spreading of man, theres a great chance youre on the right track. Next, if something is carbon dated then the age put to it can ONLY be right. Carbon dating cannot be any way falsified or changed. Furthermore, the way you stated is exactly how they got to the phillipenes and the alutian islands. It may be hard to believe but they knew how to make boats. The alutians arent really very far from alaska and population of the phillipenes happened very slowly jumping one island at a time. No ones saying they didn't mostly die of starvation or desease either, but enough made it to ......

just b/c they have evidence doesnt mean its true. if u believe in god how did adam and eve start out as humans...he didnt mention anything about evolution-and how did ppls skin color, body structure, and all those things that vary by race change if we are all decended from the same people? and there is no way to no everything for sure. just b/c there carbon-14 dating says something doesnt mean its true. they may have that map completly backwards and we wouldnt even no it. also, early on, how did ppl get 2 islands like the alaska chain of islands and the ones by the phillipines? i doubt they would just make a boat and some oars and pack enough food and water to last a couple days/weeks without any of the food spoiling or most of them dying or getting dieseased. and yea, how did hawaii become populated b/c 2 million years ago it was not attached to any other land mass...just some things to consider ppl

Only the uneducated and ignorant regaurd the "theory" of intelligent design as science. It's a belief but there is a difference between beleifs and science. In a thousand years we may find more burial sites which change the theory of where humans started. In a thousand years there will still be people that believe god or whatever created the earth. Despite the facts that the only evidence for it is the writing in a book of fiction and the overwhelming evidence indication otherwise. If the world was created from two people, we would be so horribly inbred and mutated that we would not even resemble that of the original two or the "image" in which god created us. I challenge any creationists to give me some evidence that what they think is anything more than a antiquated attempt to explain the world around them by people who didn't know any better at the time.

Zecromancer, I don't want to offend you, but some people like learning for it's intrinsic benefits. Just because you cannot find a practical use for this information in your life doesn't mean that it is not useful for anyone. Some people like history because they find it fascinating and thought provoking, not because it will make them popular. I genuinely found this interesting and I know many people who would enjoy it also.

If history isn't your thing that's okay, but realize that not everyone is like you. People are different. Just because you find something boring doesn't mean everyone would.

i dont mean to offend you people that liked it, but that was boring. i see that kind of stuff all the time in museums and stuff like that. its like 1 of those things for (again, not trying to offend anyone here) people that are obsessed with learning more and more about worthless history that wont do you any good... i mean, some people think that it will make them more popular if they know that stuff but... it actually doesen't. in most cases, your freinds will either A) be jealous, or B) call u a geek for even caring about it, and maybe kick you out of their gang/clan/group/ect. if you're in one. well, either way, or maybe others, you may lose freinds by just bragging about knowing all this. unless they're into that sort of stuff. and also, what good will it do if you know this stuff? and this is just my opinion, so before all you class education-nerds flame me out, and i really dont care if you do, just know that im just stating my opinion and giving a warning. byee
