Thursday, July 14, 2005 12:12:33 AM It's a cult...people subscribe to it when they are most vulnerable and it seems like a panacea for a weak mind. A large part of scientology has been/is composed of ex-cons, ex-drugaddicts and the like. People at their lowest points...ready to latch onto anything to return their lives to "normalcy" Scientology is based on secrets. Secrets which you have to pay for...those "devout" in the "church" work, eat, sleep and breathe scientology. The compounds around Clearwater are topped with barbbed wire and this is a safe city. Like I said, I live in Clearwater so I have many friends who work with or are related to a scientologist. I've heard many stories from first hand accounts. Compounds in the southwestern United States that are militia training grounds. No joke kids. These same people who tell me the stories are scared too. They don't let you out with proper payment and a nondisclosure statement! What "religion" that you know does this????< |

Wednesday, July 13, 2005 3:44:48 PM I REALLY dislike Lindsay Lohan, but I also think that was incredibly unintelligent and it made me sick. Those jokes just weren't that funny. I'm not saying I agree with scientology at all, but I don't know enough about it to insult it, especially on such a brainless level as that did. Most of that stuff was hardly that funny, plus it was down right low and mean. |

Wednesday, July 13, 2005 10:10:32 AM Go Homer Jay :) You're my new Hero. Sorry, but Scientology is a scam, no one in the cult will believe it until they've sold their house, lost all there family members and can't go to the hopsital to treat a fatal disease. |

Wednesday, July 13, 2005 7:38:29 AM who is Lafayette Ronald Hubbard?Born in Tilden, Nebraska on March 10, 1911 From 1930 to 1932 he attended George Washington University in Washington, D.C In 1950 he published DIANETICS: THE MODERN SCIENCE OF MENTAL HEALTH Reclusive death in Creston, California on January 24, 1986. Above are facts about L.R.H. Below is what Scientologist think He was trained as a nuclear physicist. At the age of six, he is honored with the status of blood brother of the Blackfeet in a ceremony that is still recalled by tribal elders. He was the youngest Eagle Scout in the history of the Boy Scouts. His family owned a ranch 1/3 the size of Montana. He has published some fourteen movies. All these statements do not stand up to fact checking. I'm sorry but any "church" where you have to spend between $300,000-$500,000 to attain "purity" and become and "opertating theatan" (level 7) is a scam of a paranoid drug addict. Just my $.02 |

Wednesday, July 13, 2005 7:28:36 AM How to talk to a scientologist:Weird stuff. Most Scientologists don’t know about it and are trained in the idea that finding out about it too soon will kill them. So just leave that entirely alone. It may freak you out and you may want to share it, but they will think it is a personal attack. Don’t tell them Hubbard was a con-man and a fraud and a bigamist and that almost nothing he said about himself was true. A Scientologist can’t believe that because he has been told that such statements are all lies. That the documents that show these things are fabrications by a shadowy conspiracy to destroy L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology. You’re in a he-said she-said situation. In fact, without careful research you might be presenting false information that the church has put on the ‘net just so they can show their members how false it all is. So a Scientologist will be sure you are now a tool of the conspiracy, out to destroy Scientology. And they will not |

Wednesday, July 13, 2005 7:26:33 AM I wasn't quoting a tabloid, I was listening to a professor of religion at an Ohio university (I forget which one) on the Glen Beck radio program about 2 weeks ago. He studies Scientology (not as a member, but as an expert on cults) and is a trained professional. If I didn't already know that you were already inside the cult (it would be impossible to convince you of anything anti-Scientology now) I would do the 10 minutes of research and you would quickly have to shut your mouth. But I'm lazy. Enjoy Scientology. |

Wednesday, July 13, 2005 2:01:55 AM The only ignorant person here is you. I AM a Scientologist, and I don't have to ask anyone else. It's absolutely not true that we believe there is no God. We believe in one as much as anyone else. The levels are NOT about obtaining secrets, they are about obtaining clarity for yourself, and ridding yourself of things in your past which keep you from making positive gains in your life. You don't have to believe me, but if you are going to insult someone else's religion or beliefs, don't quote a tabloid. Everyone knows they are practically nothing but lies. And it's funny how someone can take seriously the outrageous claims people like you make. Why would I listen to someone like you, who obviously has never had anything to do with it so cannot be expected to be ANY kind of authority? BTW- if that example IS true, how do you know? Did you go around asking people yourself? I doubt it since you seem to believe we are such freaks that you probably wouldn't come near us with a 10-foot pole. |

Wednesday, July 13, 2005 1:40:44 AM scorpii02... Your ignorance is exceeded only by your... wait, nothing exceeds your ignorance. It doesn't matter what Sci-Kook you ask (though I doubt you asked any in the 74 minutes between your two posts) they will all give you different answers. Why? Simple- Scientology is all made up. And as Sci-Kooks gain higher levels and ranks (by spending money on the "church"), they learn new "secrets". Ex. If you ask a Sci-Kook who has spent X amount of $ he may tell you that there is a god/God, but a Sci-Kook who has spent Y amount of $ will tell you that he has learned that there is not. BTW- that example is true. The "church" will tell you the Scientology can exist with Christianity and Buddhism and such, but eventually you will learn that there is no god/God. So I wouldn't put it past a "church" like that to tell you that you evolved from clams.

Wednesday, July 13, 2005 1:20:54 AM Really, dani? I wouldn't know-I typically don't base my views of religion on what other people say (i.e an anthro class or some ridiculous website or tabloid articles about hollywood self-fulfillment). And by the way, Scientologists don't believe we evolved from clams (that's actually really funny-I've never heard that one before). Ask any one of them. |
