"What have they DONE to you?" screames Max as he yanks himself loose from the bolts that keep him from his only love and hurles himself down the track to her. "You've changed; you're painted, your once beautiful braided steel lines have become frail and weak, but I still see the beauty that sat next to me in that tire rack all those months ago". With a final effort, he alighted himself off of the lower barracade tires and firmly planted himself atop the fine, curvy beauty of his only Yoko. They dwell there still, reminising about the old days in the tire rack, and speculate about the races they're yet to witness. <THE END>

The Ford Focus suffered a major gaurd-wall incident against the right rear portion of the vehicle where Yoko was placed.....Her side walls damaged beyond current technological repair, her once proud steel supports had frayed and broken at many points, her thread-wear made her look many, many years older that she really was, and part of her bead-lock had become comprimised. Her career was over before it really began.
But the fates looked kindly upon this odd love and conspired to bring them together again. Yoko would become a barracade tire, an inportant job some would say, but not quite as prestigious as a right-front position on a $100,000 race car, such as Max's new job. The race begins, and just as Max rounds turn two....he sees her. She's painted, sitting on top of dozens of other stacks, and anxiously waitig for the day that a race car will bring max to her. That time is now.

See, here's the thing, the race tire and the barracade tire were made at the same rubber systems factory at the same time, they first met at the water dispersion course while both installed as front wheels for a Prototype Subaru. They acted so well together that they fell in love after only a few short test runs through the entire course. At night, they would be placed in the same top tier of the tire rack and would whisper sweet nothings to each other through their sidewalls.
But fate would dein drive separation between the 2 steel-belted lovers, for on the next testing day, the tires were seperated and put on substandard "throw-away test vehicles" donated by Hertz Car Rental. Max was placed on the left-front wheel of a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am, while Yoko's fate wes relegated to a 1999 Ford Focus After a few short circuits around the course, Max proved he had what it takes to become a hardcore racetire. Yoko's fate was not as kind...((continued in next post)) |
