@RobSwindol We are talking longbow... not stoneage bow. Its like comparing the manuverability of a rowboat compared to a submarine, the gap in time and tech is not compareble.

Lots of misinformation here.
Geoff, a properly made atlatl can be aimed with some accuracy in properly trained hands.
The gentleman in the video claims that the atlatl has more knock-down power than a bow and arrow. That's simply not the case.
While the dart my be heavier, it`s traveling much, much slower than an arrow from a longbow. Mass X speed = force. And the added speed of the bow and arrow more than makes up for the mass that it lacks.
Case in point, it`s been proven time and time again that an arrow can be shot through armor using a rustic longbow. However, let`s look at how the atlatl performs against the same, low-grade armor.

Actually it's a woomera, 18000 years old and Australian aboriginal. It`s now been proven with DNA that that the Australian aboriginal was the first settler in South America, thousands of years before the mongoliod races came down from the north.
