my school was fine. i had my share of good and bad teachers. cant blame them though because most of the time they had too many students or i just didnt care.(history comes to mind) but no matter what, i still did fine and this guy apparently did too. the real problem is No Child Left Behind. it might have good intentions but this single bill screwed over so many kids and schools. testing is overrated and in some cases dosnt even work. many people know the material but only a few can really test out.
btw. maybe paying them more and giving them less students would help. also, changing the stigmata that teachers dont work enough/deserve the pay or that they settled for teaching needs to change. for christ's sake they are literally changing the future everyday they go to work.

I want to know what state he is from or what school district, because my school system was always encouraging and helpful. The ones who excelled were pushed to excel even more. I was reading at a high school level in 6th grade and I never got put down or told to read below my level. I think it's unfair to say that this sums up American education in a nutshell, because there are a lot of school districts in America and you can`t possibly know how they all teach their students.
