While the deaths of so many in China during WWII should not be minimized, the difference is one of proportionality. In 1935 there were roughly 15 millions Jews worldwide. The Holocaust killed 6 million, 40% of Jews on the planet. The worldwide population of Jews has still not returned to its pre-war numbers (currently estimated at 14 million). The Nazis also killed an additional 9 million political prisoners, gays, Poles, gypsies, and others. The percentage image on gypsies was even higher than the Jews.
The Japanese would had to have killed over 200 million Chinese to have a similar impact as the Nazis did on the Jewish population.

ah, this stuff is terrible, half-baken facts, mostly taken out of context and some inaccurate (in 16 years here in japan i've never heard of workplaces that condone falling asleep ... )
now that the number of chinese civilians killed by japanese troops during wwii is huge is an important fact, and yet, sadly, hardly known in japan. but i`m not sure that the holocaust is the proper comparison, though; russians killed by german soldiers seems to be more apt (= two countries at war), and those numbers are larger (although a large part were soldiers, while chinese casualties are mainly civilian)
