wish i knew what started it to form a judgement. But at the very least the young one should have shown more self control. even though the old one punched him in the jewels twice.

Chivalry was created for and is suitable for the social structure of medieval Britain and western Europe, in particular the sexed roles of that time and place. They no longer exist, so chivalry is no longer appropriate, sensible or fair.
CreamK was using superior training to deal with low-threat attackers at some risk to himself. He was probably skilled enough to accurately assess the degree of risk. Although he might still have got it wrong and been crippled or killed because he used minimal force in a way that is not effective against anyone who really intends to harm you. But hey, at least he was compliant with obsolete sexed roles implemented in a wholly one-sided way. That would look just fine on a gravestone.

@CreamK, what you do (have done?) is a perfect description of chivalric behavior!! (Not hurting the woman, but not letting them hurt you). Well done, sir! You're right though, women should not hit if they don`t want to get hit.
