The first application of Miura-ori in space was in 1995 on a Japanese research vessel Space Flight Unit to fold a solar power array, or a group of interconnected solar cells. The same technique is now popularly used to fold road maps and tourist maps!

I've never heard of that technique being used on a satellite before. Usually they are just hinged flat panels. I`ve seen accordion style though. Anyone know any satellites it`s been used on?
