Like "TheLebowski", I found it far too simplistic to hold my interest. However, seeing how it's main goal is to pique the interest of those who aren`t into science, it`s a great tool to introduce them and maybe get a few more minds thinking.

The show uses too much CGI when it could easily use real images. This is a common criticism of this series. While I did prefer the Sagan version because it made you use your imagination more, I think the real point of this series is to make people otherwise uninterested in science go "ooh" and "ahh" in an effort to interest them. Creative license aside, the CGI really is beautiful. As long as people start questioning everything and get interested enough to explore the unknown I don't mind some CGI.

The show uses too much CGI when it could easily use real images. Science by itself is cool, and it doesn't need the CGI to make it "look cool". It actually detracts from the coolness factor when the show resorts to using CGI instead of showing what stuff really looks like using our actual technology. What is even worse is that they make the CGI look so "real" that the viewer can`t even tell what is real and what is not.
For example, they had a CGI video of a water bear. But I researched it after the show, and this is actually what they look like under a scanning electron microscope:

While it is a well-made docu, i feel it is a bit too basic, covering topics i allready knew alot about from watching older space docus. Still watching all the episodes just because i think Mr.Tyson is awesome.
