I was disappointed by Mt. Rushmore; in North by Northwest, Hitchcock had a forest and and the bad guys' house up top of the sculptures. Remember? Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint rush out of the house and thru the woods to find themselves looking down at the faces.

The "Reality" version of Mt Rushmore was quite spectacular, especially in comparison to all of the other rather disappointing reality photos.

I sat at a KFC in Giza and ate looking at the Sphinx and Pyramids.

You see what you want to see. If you are so bitter, jaded, and pessimistic that you can only see the seedier side of things then I feel sorry for you. The reality of these great landmarks is grand and wonderful. Don't divorce yourself from their romance to such a degree.
