I thought everyone knew sh*t like this about American hospitals already; they're just money grubbing institutions that don`t really care about their patients health ... unless they`re rich. Okay, maybe that`s taking it a bit too far, but it sure seems like it sometimes. But it seems to happen everywhere to some degree, hell I remember years ago there was a fuss about a Canadian government agency that was doing stupid sh*t like paying 250$ for a hammer.

Funny story. I don't like to be a bother to people. Especially when I am sick. I was in the hospital once for pneumonia and every half hour or so a staff person would come around and ask if they could get me something to drink. Due to my ornery personality I politely thanked them and told them i was fine, even though I felt like I was dying of thirst. Finally a doctor comes in and tells me they would need to put me on an IV because I was severely dehydrated and not taking any liquids.
Moral of the story, if they are going to charge you 500 dollars a night, let the staff wait on you hand and foot. I told the doctor in no uncertain terms that if he needed me to drink some water he should have had someone show up with a cup and told me to drink. but allowing the candy strippers to get a pitcher would have avoided the situation.
