@Sleepyhallow Don't flatter yourself. You might be an ignorant old white guy with no idea what he is talking about telling everyone else how wrong they are, but I wasn`t talking about you personally.

I`m not smart enough to know the solution but I know enough to know it`s not going to work by letting the free market run wild.

The first part of your sentence explains the second part perfectly.

Economics work really well in a bubble when you don't consider one thing. Us. Some things can`t be held in the "free market" for instance healthcare. What`s the price of a human life? Bad juju going down that route. There`s room to let the free market breath but it also needs some counterbalances. I`m not smart enough to know the solution but I know enough to know it`s not going to work by letting the free market run wild. The only people that tell you that are on the positive end of the scale.

What OldOllie said. I was raised a borderline socialist and I've since gone to libertarianism. Or I would, if I`d lived in the USA. Makes the most sense.

Also, it`s great finding a video about economics that doesn`t bring any moral issues into it, trying to sway your opinion, just some nicely drawn facts.

Ollie is right. Every liberal I know and have met want things to change and want everyone else to pay the price for their ideas. Furthermore, you can show them a myriad of airtight reasons why their theories won't work and has always turned out badly for others who have attempted them, and they still think that this time the results will be better.
The only reason why governments care about the economy is so that they can make more taxes, which they spend on all their great ideas.
Government is arrogant how could it not be?
