Senator Obama.....Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that “the buck stops here.” Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children... America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.

What is it now...7 or 8 trillion more under PBO? Yeah but things aren't terrible. Real unemployment through the roof but things aren`t terrible.

Everybody in Washington is responsible for this shambles.

"A dismal labor market, labor force participation."

America has a difficult problem with the labor market.

In the 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s you could work hard at a job that didn't require additional schooling and make enough to live your life, raise your family, own a home. People had careers. Those jobs were in the manufacturing sector. Manufacturing went away.

Now those jobs are in retail, service, and restaurants and they don`t pay enough to live on.

So we`ve created a whole class of working poor, a problem, not only for them, but for the whole country. These people don`t pay taxes, they require government assistance to survive, and they don`t have enough disposable income to provide any stimulation to the economy.
