He stole documents because he felt the US government was violating constitutional law by invading the private lives of its citizens. He did what he felt he needed to do to help protect people's liberties. He put his own life/freedom on the line for others, that`s a hero by definition.

Was it overkill to steal 2000 documents? Maybe, maybe not. I can`t say without knowing what was contained in those documents. Do I think he solely did this all for profit, don`t know the man so I can`t say. But his actions have changed things for the better and that has to count for something.
What I DO know is that thew information he has brought to light has changed the game, the public knowledge of the NSA`s dealings has forced the government to rethink its approach to spying and may end up shutting it down all together if enough ju

@ Dragonace - well you certainly tripped me up with that brilliant logic. You are 100% right I do not have any physical evidence he sold the 2000 Top Secret document he stole.
But aren't you nit-picking? HE CONFESSED TO STEALING OVER 2000 TOP SECRET DOCUMENTS. What part of that is just too subtle for you to clue into? He is a traitor by his own admission.
