@simbha: Correct! For example: Dallas/Fort Worth could be considered one "metropolitan area" since they've grown to become one city, essentially. But it`s still not as big as Mexico City!

@ieatbunnies: This is a chart of the largest metropolitan areas (or, possibly, urban agglomerations), not cities proper. Arbitrary political boundaries matter little; it's the natural continuity of people that matters and this is charting that.
