I'm sorry, I respect and enjoy these stories, but the author is incorrect. Just because you can produce a few cases of pit bulls that have never acted violently, the fact remains... Pit Bulls have less than 5000 years of domestication, whereas cows and the like have more like 10,000 years or more. It is simply a matter of evolution... if a Pit Bull gets too hungry, too excited, too whatever, a human will be it`s target. There are as many stories of pit bulls raised in loving homes that one day decided to chew off granny`s foot, or drag off and maul the family baby.

I haven't seen any of these stories in the media proclaiming pit bulls being bad. If anything, the media is over saturated in trying to uphold them, like this post here. It`s just that pit bulls make good fighting dogs and are often used in gambling.
There are far better causes to hold the banner for, but changing how the media portrays pit bulls? It`s a shallow issue. If you want on the animal rights bandwagon why not look at how our livestock are treated. But you don`t want to think about that. Better they`re off in the middle of nowhere, penned up where you don`t see it until it`s in the frozen food aisle. But dogs, we see dogs every day. Better focus on that, because you aren`t perpetrating that system, at least.
